Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek Permit Cost

Permits are mandatory for Manaslu trek. The permit charge is imposed to protect fragile ecosystem and culture of the region. MCAP and ACAP are also important for the trek.

  • September to November – USD 70 per person per week and USD 10 per day per person for each additional day
  • December to August – USD 50 per person per week and USD 7 per day per person for each additional day
  • ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project Permit) USD 20 or NPR 2000
  • MCAP (Manaslu Conservation Area Project Permit) USD 20 or NPR 2000

What are the criteria to obtain Manaslu Trek Permit?

It is important to know that individual trekkers are not allowed in Manaslu. Here are some criteria that you should meet to obtain the permit:

  • It is obligatory to hire at least one government licensed guide from local trekking agency in Nepal
  • You must be at least two people in one group (not including the guide or porter)
  • You must process for permits through an authorized local trekking agency

What are necessary documents for Manaslu Tsum valley trek permits?

If you are able to meet are the requirements as discussed above, you should also provide the following documents to your local trekking companies in order to apply for the permit:

  • Original passport with your Nepal entry visa with the arrival stamp

Do I need TIMS card for Manaslu Trek?

TIMS (Trekking Information Management System) is not required for trekking in Manaslu Tsum valley. In case, you are connecting the trip with Annapurna Base Camp Trek or Everest Base Camp Trek, then TIMS is required. Especially after Manaslu trip, trekkers want to continue the journey to Annapurna circuit and end up at Pokhara via Jomsom Muktinath. In that case, TIMS is mandatory. But good news is you don’t need to buy ACAP again.

What is the cost of Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek Permit for Children?

If you are trekking Manaslu with children below ten, the permit is free. Permit includes restricted area permit, ACAP and MCAP which all are free of cost. But you need to go through all the permit making process and submit necessary document. It means the permit is only free but the process is still the same as the adult.

All the restricted area trekking permit including Manalsu region trek permit are issued in the trekking department of the Nepal immigration office in Maitighar, Kathmandu. Please note: Nepal Tourism Board and TAAN don’t issue the restricted area trekking permits. But other permits like MCAP, ACAP and TIMS are issued here.
